Parenting Guide Example
My parenting guide example is quiet simple, my dreams for my children are
for them grow up in a loving family,
For every member of my family to develop a high level of emotional intelligence.
For our children to grow up to be responsible, compassionate and independent adults who still enjoy spending time with us
Now this in itself is not going to give much in the way of guidance, it is too general. So my next step is to be more specific about what each of the above mean to me and to my partner.
For my children to grow up in a loving family
For the family unit to respect each other and express their feelings in positive ways (no putting each other down when angry or upset)
For the family unit to enjoy spending time together
For the parents to be great role models for what a happy and for filled marriage should be.
For the family to be able to communicate with each other in effective ways, where disagreements could be resolved through give and take with a win-win result.
Why
A loving family environment would help to promote self confidence in all members and give each member a solid support base for life. This environment would give us all the physical and emotional security required by individuals to function properly as describe in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
For every member of my family to develop a high level of emotional intelligence
Emotional intelligence refers to how well some one is able to understand their own feelings, those of others and also how well they interact with other people.
In a nut shell this is exactly what I have been studying and learning about for the past 20 years so as you can probably guess it is extremely important for my family to achieve a high level of emotional intelligence.
Child to value and respect themselves and others
To be happy self confident adults
To have a love for learning
To have a loving relationship in adult life
To live life without fear
To believe that anything is possible
To appreciate and understand their own feelings and those of others
To be able to communicate and interact well with others
To be both resilient and tolerant
Why
I am guessing that this part of my parenting guide example is pretty similar to what all parents want for their kids. I want my children to grow up to be strong confidence and loving adults. I want them to feel like anything is possible, that no matter what there dream is it is achievable. In a nutshell I want my kids to be happy and I believe by developing their emotional intelligence I can achieve this.
For our children to grow up to be responsible, compassionate and independent adults who still enjoy spending time with us
This is my bigger picture, everyday that I parent my two young children I have this in the back of my mind.
I want for my kids to still want to spend time with us when they become adults
I also want my kids to feel strong and secure enough to go out into the world to explore and experience whatever it is that they are passionate about
Why
Although I want my children to be strong independent adults I also want to be a part of their lives long after they leave home. This is my bigger picture, my motivating force for getting off the couch so to speak, to play ball with my sons or tea parties with my daughter when I am tried and just want some time to myself.
What I have included above is just a part of my parenting guide to give you a practical example of how I have put my guide together. The next step in developing your own parenting guide is to look at how you can achieve your dreams for your self and your children.
For me most of what I want to achieve from my parenting guide example is for my family to be emotionally intelligent. This will allow my children and us to develop strong social skills, to be compassionate, responsible human beings and to be resilient to the ups and downs of life.
How I have developed my how to part of my parenting guide example is what this website is all about. So virtually every page will give you ideas and techniques to develop good parenting skills to help you for fill and master your own parenting guide example. Good Luck
